Minecraft crashes or stops during startup
First check that the FallingTree file matches both Minecraft and the loader. A Fabric JAR in Forge or NeoForge is a common mismatch. Then read the loader error for a missing dependency or incompatible mod version.
The game loads but nothing happens
Confirm FallingTree is actually listed by your loader or mod menu. Test a normal tree with an expected tool and review configuration options that control activation, sneaking, tool lists, or tree detection.
Only some trees work
Tree-detection rules can intentionally reject structures that do not look like valid trees. Modded trees may also use blocks or shapes that need compatible detection behavior. Test with a basic vanilla tree to separate a global installation problem from a specific tree problem.
The wrong blocks are being removed
Stop testing near valuable builds and make detection more conservative. Player-built log structures can resemble trees when rules are too permissive. Restore from backup if necessary, then retest in an isolated area.
Multiplayer behaves differently
Compare server and client versions, loaders, and configuration. If the server is intended to control the feature, make sure the server actually loaded the mod. If your chosen behavior requires clients, keep those client files aligned too.
Still stuck? Build a minimal test instance
Create a separate profile with the correct loader, FallingTree, and only required dependencies. If that instance works, the original problem is likely a conflict or configuration difference rather than the FallingTree file itself.
Use a FallingTree file that matches both your Minecraft version and loader. Our download picker resolves files from the official Modrinth project instead of repackaging the mod.
